Thinking About Coaching? This is what a few coaches from last season said!
With very little knowledge of rules of soccer and no personal experience with playing the game, I was a bit hesitant at first to volunteer to coach. But I decided to coach my daughters’ team and I am glad I did. It turned out to be such a rewarding experience and tons of fun. The kids were so eager to play and just needed a bit of guidance about the rules, which were actually quite simple. I would recommend coaching to anyone. You don’t need to be an expert, just patient with kids and enthusiastic about having fun.

I had thought about coaching my son’s team when he first started playing. But I was unsure of the requirements for coaching kid’s soccer. So I made a point of watching the coaches that season to see what they did. I could see that their biggest challenge was keeping the kids interested in the game and shooting at the right goal! I knew it would be a challenge, but thought I could handle it so I signed up as coach for the next season. And I’m really thankful I did. I’ve really enjoyed all aspects of the coaching experience. It’s been a real joy to get to know so many of the players and some of their families. And my son loves to tell the other kids “my dad’s the coach”…

Coaching gives me a chance to spend time and build a strong relationship with my nephew. Working with and teaching kid’s team work and new skills is very rewarding not to mention a lot of fun!
